Psychoanalysis

An intensive engagement that aims to produce long-lasting change and open a more fulfilling way of engaging with life.

Psychoanalysis is a deep, playful, and generative encounter with truth. The process can at times be uncanny, even frightening. It is also an unparalleled process of self-discovery and self-realization, and it allows for a profoundly richer engagement with reality and with desire.

Most people come to analysis because they feel that something more is possible which they are missing out on, out of a boundless sense of curiosity about this world, or because they have found themselves truly at the end of the line in terms of finding ways of changing a painful personal reality.

Analysis involves meeting three or more times per week. That frequency is not an obstacle to the work; it is what makes the work possible.

Working with psychosis

A substantial part of my practice is with psychotic subjects. Psychoanalysis has something particular to offer here that is too often withheld: not management, not correction, but a sustained and curious listening that takes what someone says seriously as a construction of their world. My clinical and theoretical work is centrally concerned with this question, and I welcome inquiries from people, and from families, for whom other approaches have not been enough.

If you would like to explore whether analysis is right for you, arrange a consultation.
